Today is my second day in LA

It’s nice to be stationed in one city for more then a few hours. The studio has rented me a convertible Mustang to drive around and they are putting me up at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, not bad! I’m off to Seattle tomorrow and then we are going to be in San Francisco! It is going to great to be back in the city for a few days, but I don’t think I’ll even have enough free time to go home.

After I left Detroit we went to Chicago, and then down to Dallas and then back up to Minneapolis and Kansas City. In Minnesota we were given tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld and I got to meet him after the show! It was so exciting. I could get very used to all of this star treatment. In Kansas City there was a screening at the exact same theater I went to see Dream Girls at a little over a month ago, when I was there to see my sisters! I couldn’t believe it. It really is a small world.

I went with Virginia to pick up her beautiful Escada dress that she was planning on wearing to the event last night. When she tried it on we realized that it hadn’t been altered correctly and it was a near fashion disaster! Luckily I had some safety pins and we were able to pin it from the inside out and then I styled her hair over the seam. It looked perfect and you would never know that she almost had to find a new dress entirely! Disaster diverted!

I can’t believe how much work it is being on a tour like this. It is so fun and I am loving every minute of it… but I could sure use a little break! More updates to follow soon.

Hello from Detroit!

The trip has gotten off to a great start and I am already in my third city! We aren’t wasting anytime!

I spent Saturday morning packing and I think that men’s clothes are heavier then women’s, because my suitcase has to weigh a ton! I had to edit it down a bit, but it wasn’t easy. I fit all of my hair and makeup supplies into my Zuca, which is great because I know that it will be safe during all the traveling I am going to be doing over the next month.

Getting through security at Oakland airport was a complete disaster, they went through all of my makeup and wanted to take my precious Giorgio Armani foundations! It took some coaxing, but eventually I was let through and on my way. Phew! I spent the night in LA and in the morning I was picked up in a big black town car and taken to the LA airport where someone from the movie studio did some wheeling and dealing and got me bumped up to first class! Needless to say, security wasn’t an issue this time around.

On the plane I was able to talk to Virginia a bit and show her the look book that I had put together for her. It’s full of pictures of hair and makeup that I think will look great on her. I think that she really liked that I put some thought into her look.

When we were walking through the airport people started to recognize Virginia. She looked like such a movie star with her long cream colored Channel coat. It was very cool being a part of her crew, but I secretly hope that some day I’ll be famous with my own entourage!

The hotel in Atlanta was AMAZING! When you first walk in there is a huge staircase that looks like the one from the Titanic! It was very cool. We are staying at all the best hotels around the country, which is very nice considering it is too cold to even go outside in most of these cities! Everyone come to interview Virginia at the hotel, so there is never really a reason to go outside, except when we are traveling from the hotel to the airport to the next hotel.

We flew from Atlanta to Detroit using the Warner Brothers corporate jet! I can’t get over how glamorous it was. I felt like I was on an episode of Dynasty! Billy Bob Throton and the directors of the film, the Polish brothers, were on the plane with us as well. Billy Bob is very personable and surprisingly handsome, but I thought that the directors were really good looking… but they are both married, sigh…. On the plane all of the VIP’s sat around a table gossiping about Hollywood. I tried to listen but I didn’t hear anything juicy to report back to you all.

The whole experience has been a little surreal, I have always dreamed of doing this but I didn’t think it would actually happen. Everything that I talked about and joked about and gossiped about to all my friends and clients is really happening. It’s all just as glamorous and whirlwind as I expected.

Tonight we are going to be staying at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago, where Jennifer Aniston stayed while filming “The Breakup” so you know it’s going to be nice! I heard that it is so cold in Chicago that the river is frozen. Brrrrr!

Well, I just got a call that Virginia is heading back to the room, I think I’ll do her hair down with soft waves for tonight! Keep checking back here for more updates and adventures.

Sincerely,

Clifford
